Welcome to Smith-Cotton Junior High School
Welcome to Smith-Cotton Junior High where our teachers and staff are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for every student. We value academic growth, personal development and the well-being of each student. Our goal is to ensure that all students feel cared for, challenged, and confident as they learn each day.
Dear Students and Families,
Welcome to a new school year at Smith-Cotton Junior High School! We are excited to work with you in supporting your child through grades 6-8. We are proud to have staff who love to work with this unique age group and help them through this transformative time in their lives. Whether you are returning to our school community or joining us for the first time, we want you to know how glad we are to have your family with us.
At Smith-Cotton Junior High School, our mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment where all students can thrive. We are committed to helping each child grow academically while also supporting their social and emotional development. We know that junior high is a time of great change, and our staff is dedicated to guide and encourage every student along the way.
To provide motivation to our students to be successful socially and academically, we have a system that we call “good standing.” To be in good standing, students must show effort in their classes, have good attendance, and behave in a positive manner. Students are rewarded quarterly and throughout the year for being in good standing and meeting the expectations of our building while growing into positive, successful young adults.
We look forward to a successful school year and to working together to help your child reach their full potential. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions, ideas, or concerns — our doors are always open.
Sincerely,
Ashleigh Noland

Nurse Information
MEDICAL INFORMATION:
MO State Law requires ALL students entering 8th grade to have a current Tdap immunization and current Meningococcal vaccination on file BEFORE they start the school year. Please make arrangements to have these vaccinations administered to your child BEFORE school as your child will not be allowed to attend until they are submitted by the parent to the school nurse. It is the parent's responsiblity to supply that information to the school nurse's office.
